• Inscription scholars grind flowers and grasses collected by herbalists. If you grind 5 herbs, you will get pigments from them, which you can process into inks.
• Inks from the current expansion can always be exchanged for inks from older expansions at the ink merchant.
• To avoid having to buy these flowers in the auction house, it is a good idea to learn herbalism as a second profession.

• Inscriptionists produce glyphs, Darkmoon Faire card sets, parchment scrolls, sidehand items, Vantus runes, and, since Battle for Azeroth, contracts that can help you boost your reputation with the factions.
• Inscriptionists can also craft Foliant des stillen Gemüts, which allows you to change your talents outside of rest zones.
• In Battle for Azeroth, Inscriptionists can also craft  Scroll of Unlocking, which allows them to open locks and lockboxes.
• Nightborne have a +15 bonus to Inscription through their Racial Uralte Geschichten. This means that recipes stay orange 15 points longer, which can save materials and thus gold in many cases.
